Design Project:
Jiwa Singapura
Jiwa Singapura was a Singaporean-style restaurant in McLean, VA. One of the project goals was to create an elegant and intricate pattern made with illustrations of common Virginian foliage in the style of traditional Batik fabric patterns from Singapore.
Below are the individual illustrations I created based on my research of Virginia foliage and samples of Singaporean Batik patterns. I collaborated with the project’s lead designer to then create a pattern using these illustrations, which we then applied to the brand’s digital and print collateral to add a sense of beauty and cultural authenticity to the brand.
